A CAREPLAIN guide
The Consult Closing Checklist
Four moves for the final minutes of a consult, so more clients say "how do we start?" instead of "I'll think about it."

Most consultations aren't won by better answers. They're won by better questions.
Before you start
Most consultations aren't lost because you don't know what to say. They're lost because the conversation quietly leaves the path.
These aren't the four most important things you'll ever say. They're the four moments where most consultations quietly fall apart.
These four moves help you bring it back. Use one on your very next consult.
Let's begin.
Move One
The Price Pivot
When she says "it's expensive"
Price is rarely the real reason. Don't answer the number. Answer what's underneath it.
Say this, then stop talking
"I hear you. When you say it feels like a lot, is it the number itself, or not feeling sure this is the right move for you?"
Decide now: you will not drop your price in the first ten seconds of hearing "it's expensive."
The first objection is rarely the real one.
Why this one question opens the real objection is taught inside Objection Mastery.
Move Two
The Hidden Question
The one question behind the stall
"I'll think about it" is a surface line. The real reason sits underneath. Bring it into the open, gently.
Say this, then listen
"Of course, take the time you need. So I understand you fully, what's the one thing you're still weighing?"
Say this question out loud once before your next consult, so it feels natural.
Questions create clarity faster than explanations.
The full reasoning behind this question lives inside Objection Mastery.
Move Three
The Clear Next Step
What to cover before she leaves
Don't let uncertainty walk out the door with her. "I'll think about it" often means the consult ended without a clear next step. Clarity is what closes. Before she stands up, give her something to move toward.
- Your recommendation, in one plain sentence.
- What changes for her, in her own words from earlier.
- The exact next step and when. "We'd begin with [step] on [date]."
Then ask
"How does this sound to you?"
Never end a consult without naming the next step and a date.
Confused clients postpone. Clear clients decide.
Why clarity closes, and pressure never does, is taught inside Objection Mastery.
Move Four
The Open Door
The follow-up that reopens the door
Follow-up isn't pressure. A short, warm, specific message brings a quiet client back. Send it within a day or two.
The goal isn't to remind her you exist. It's to reopen a conversation that ended too early.
Send this
"Hi [name], I keep thinking about what you shared about [her goal]. No rush at all. When you feel ready, I have a spot saved for you to begin with [next step]. Want me to hold it?"
Save this message. Send it to one client this week.
Follow-up should reopen trust, not create pressure.
The complete follow-up sequence is inside Objection Mastery.
The bigger picture
Safety → Understanding → Clarity → Commitment
These four moves are part of the CAREPLAIN Framework. What you just used is the surface. The framework is the whole path, from the first hello to a confident yes.
Every successful consultation moves through these four states, whether you realize it or not.
